Longhorns, Dairy Cows, Calves

Longhorns were my first experiment with pastel on wood and what has led me to continue with these tools.

This breed of cattle is known for its characteristic horns, which can extend to over 8 feet tip to tip for cows and bulls. My concept was to show that despite their bold and striking looks, Texas Longhorns can be quite gentle.

I continued with dairy cows and their calves. I enjoy working subjectively, so my concept was to capture the cow's characteristics in their faces with some quirkiness.
